Thanks! Tiddly Inks Tuesday!

It’s Tuesday and that means Christy has new images to show off over at Tiddly Inks! She has two new Wryns to show you and I’m using one! Isn’t she adorable! This is Whatcha Doin’ Wryn. I colored her with Copics and cut her out so she fits in a little frame. The rest of the layout is nice and simple. I used MME Stella and Rose Gertie paper. I distressed a bit here and there. The sentiment uses letter stickers from K & Co. and a Tim Holtz ring pin.

Celebrate!

Howdy everyone! I just wanted to pop in with a little CAS birthday card I made over the weekend using Deconstructed Sketch 39 and Love Monsters from Taylored Expressions. Here’s the run down on how to make this card:

  1. Start with a 10.5″ x 5.25″ white cardbase. Fold in half to make a 5×25″ square card.
  2. Cut a 4.5″ white square, a 1.5″ x 4.5″ strip of patterned paper, and a 3.75″ square of patterned paper. Glue the 1.5″ x 4.5″ strip of paper to the 4.5″ white square cardstock about a 1/2″ away from the edge. If using liquid glue allow to dry.
  3. Position a Spellbinders Circle die in the middle of the white square, taping the die down face down. Run through die cut machine twice to cut and emboss.
  4. Glue the 3.75″ square of patterned paper to the center of the white card base. Using foam tape adhere the 4.5″ square with a circle cut out over the patterned paper on the card base.
  5. Stamp a monster from Love Monsters twice, once on white cardstock and once on patterned paper. Color the arms and legs of the monster on the white cardstock. Cut out the monster on white cardstock. Cut out the body of the monster on the patterned paper.
  6. Glue the monster stamped on white cardstock to the center of the circle opening on the card base. Use foam tape to attach and pop up the body of the monster cut from patterned paper. Glue googly eyes to the monsters eyes.
  7. Stamp a flag and sentiment from Fly Your Flag 3 on white cardstock. Use the coordinating die and alignment tool to cut out the flag. Fold the flag and glue around a toothpick. Trim the end of the toothpick so it’s not too long. Glue to the right hand of the monster.
  8. Attach coordinating buttons as desired to the lower left side of the circle using Glossy Accents or glue dots. (I used Glossy Accents.)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 39

Hey everyone! It’s Thursday and I hope you are doing well. I have to say this week is wiping me out. It’s been full of many days of drawing demonstrations at school and running and more running at night. There’s something about this time of year, the lull between the holidays and spring beginning that wears me out a bit, I think. I need some bright sunny 70 degrees and morning sunshine to pep me back up. What about you?

Lets get on to our sketch! We are up to DS39 and I hope you like this one! Please excuse the hearts, I know Valentine’s day is over so please feel free to make those into what ever shape you would like. :)

Deconstructed Sketch 39

I am running a bit late on my sample. I had my image all ready to put on my card and then spilled water on it when I was cooking dinner… I know, I know, I shouldn’t multi-task, lol. Or maybe I should work ahead… but it’s just not in my personality to do so… I need the pressure of a dead-line. Just ask my husband, he’s always getting on me about waiting until the last minute but the creativity just doesn’t flow until it wants too. :) I’m hoping I’ll have on to put up by tomorrow night or Saturday morning. :)

BUT my fantastic and super super talented guest designer, Amy Sheffer, has an amazing sample for you and I’m just gonna let that one shine today!

Doesn’t she just do the most amazing work? Seriously, stunning I’d say!

Now it’s time to hop around and see what everyone else on the DT has been up to and leave them a little love.

I’m up today with a new project using the AMAZING February Key Ingredients kit AND the exclusive Vintage Dream stamp set available only to Key Ingredients subscribers. :)

For my card set today I started with the Vintage dreamer set and some GORGEOUS kraft card stock from the KI kit.  I folded my card so a little bit of the inside shows from the outside because I lined the inside edge with a few strips of paper from the MME Rosy pad. I love this fold because it let me use up some of the scraps from the first card I made from the kit.

On the corner of the front I stamped the medallion from the Vintage Dreamer set in Memento Rich Cocoa. On top of that I layered a leaf from the Mini Leaves Die set and a fairytale rose from the kit. The sentiment is stamped from the Vintage Dreamer set onto Choice Buttercream cardstock in Rich Cocoa and is die cut using the Fly Your Flag 2 die.

Here are the three other cards I made using this same layout:

Here are the dies I used on my cards:
