Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous week! We’ve been busy soaking up the small bit of summer that is left for us. I head back to my teaching job in about 10 days *sigh* and the kiddos head off the the sitter and 2nd grade. It seems the summer goes faster every year. Ten weeks seems an eternity on the last day of school and a blink on the first day. It seems the older my kids get the faster the time flies.
Well… as time marches on it’s time to get to this week’s sketch. Speaking of time flying… can you believe we are already at week 12? I can’t!! To those of you who joined us last week or are just picking up the sketch for the first time this week or have played any week in between I want to say thank you… it’s so wonderful to see all the inspiring creations that everyone makes. I try to make it around to all the projects each week to leave a little note and sometimes I make it, sometimes I don’t but I do look at everything and I’m always to humbled by all of your creations… you guys are just amazing!
Again, I also wanted to let you know I made a Facebook Page for The Deconstructed Sketch if any of you like to follow things on Facebook. I’ll be posting sketches there and samples.
This Week’s Sketch
I really had fun with this week’s sketch and I hope you will too!
My Sample
This week I used The Greeting Farm’s Creeper Piper. She’s from the July release and she is SO cute. I lover her sassy little attitude. I colored her to match some GORGEOUS Basic Grey Out of Print paper. I love this paper pad. It’s so intimidating to use though. I finally just had to pull some sheets out put the rest away and say to my self… “these are the three you have… figure it out”. Sometimes I gotta give myself a little kick in the pants, you know? Now I’m thinking I want to use that argyle paper on everything, I just love it so much. I threw in a few Jen basics… a deckle Spellbinder’s die, a little distressing and sponging along with a bit of splotchiness and my new favorite thing… a bit ole’ frothy seam binding bow in a gorgeous green.
Now lets take a peak at what the DT girls did with this sketch, eh? (Emma and Amber are taking the week off this week.)

Aren’t they fantastic?!!?

Summer is going by faster. My son’s school is starting a week earlier this year and it just seems like it’s cutting Summer short. What happened to starting in Sept? LOL.

I used the sketch last week to create this card, but since I work so far ahead it didn’t go up on my blog until today so I missed the deadline. I know I’ll use this again… I never think to offset panels at an angle so this was a good reminder to get out of my box! Thanks for the inspiration!
