Deconstructed Sketch No. 3

So have I mentioned that it’s the last week of school? And did I by chance mention that we have TWO days left? Or that teacher MIGHT be just as bad as the kids when it comes to being excited? Seriously, did I mention it?

Now to the task at hand, you guys ROCKED last week’s sketch. It’s so fun to see what everyone makes each week… just AWESOME!

This Week’s Sketch

Our sketch this week is unsponsored. Our next sponsored sketch will be the first Thursday of June!

For my card today I used an image that I’ve had colored up for a little white. I used Princess Anya from the Greeting Farm. She’s one of my favorites and I don’t get enough of a chance to use her so I thought she was perfect for today. I used Prismacolors to color her on PTI Kraft cardstock. I really didn’t use any OMS on this one, just the pencils. She’s colored to match My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose Hazel paper. I have used the heck out of this paper pad and I still love it and it’s still going strong! To accent the image I added a Fluer de Lis edger punch from EK Success. I have to say I don’t love this punch. I love the design but it just doesn’t punch well. The paper is forever getting stuck in the punch and tearing when I try to remove it. Does anyone else have this trouble? What am I doing wrong?

Here’s a closer look at the coloring…

  1. Love the card Jen, Anya is a sweetie and gorgeous creations from the DT as usual! I agree about the punches….I have a couple of the same brand that are pretty useless….the first one started shredding my paper the second time I used it, and after buying the sharpening kit and using it without success, I gave up. Stick to Queen Martha! (lol)

  2. Your card is so pretty! I was going to say maybe punch it with wax paper or aluminum foil. To clean or sharpen. But Jayne said she has the sharpening kit so my idea might not even work. I agree, Martha’s punches are awesome!! I bought mine two weeks and have used it in almost every project since:)
